Detox Arena — Privacy Policy

Detox Arena is a screen-time leaderboard game. This page explains exactly what the app collects and why.

What we collect

• An anonymous device ID — a random identifier generated on first launch (not tied to your Google account, phone number, or email). There is no sign-up or login.
• A display name and squad PIN/postal code you choose to enter — used only to show you in leaderboards and group you into Area/City/State/National rankings.
• Country / state / city — either typed by you, or filled in automatically from a one-time GPS location lookup only if you tap "Use my GPS location" and grant the permission. The app does not track your location in the background, does not store raw GPS coordinates, and only keeps the resulting country/state/city text. You can decline this and enter it manually instead.
• Your daily screen-time total — read on-device via Android's Usage Access permission. The app reads only the aggregate number of minutes you used your phone that day. The app can also show YOU a per-app breakdown of your own screen time on your device (a “Screen Usage” view), but it never transmits which apps you use — only your daily total is ever sent to our backend.
• An optional profile photo — only if you add one on the You tab. A small, low-resolution copy (about 64×64 pixels) is stored on our backend and shown next to your name on leaderboards so squad-mates can recognise you. It is entirely optional — skip it and a coloured initial is shown instead — and you can replace it any time.

Anonymous usage events

Separately from the leaderboard data above, the app sends anonymous, non-identifying product-usage events to our own first-party collector at https://cryosim.com/assets/analytics/collect — for example: the app was opened, a screen was viewed, a feature was used. These tell us which parts of the app are actually used so we can improve them. You can turn them off at any time: open More and switch off Share anonymous usage data — it takes effect straight away, with no restart, and nothing further is sent.

What is never sent with them: no display name, no squad PIN or postal code, no location, no screen-time figure, no photo, and no list of your apps. They carry only fixed event names, counts, and a random identifier the app generates for this purpose — separate from your leaderboard device ID, and not your Android ID or an advertising ID. Clearing the app’s data resets it. No third-party analytics SDK is used, and no IP address or cookie is stored.

What we never collect

• No name, email, or phone number tied to a real identity.
• No list of installed or used apps.
• No continuous or background location — only a single on-demand lookup if you opt in.
• No advertising SDKs are currently integrated in this app.

How it's used

Your device ID, name, PIN, country/state/city, and daily minutes are sent to our backend solely to compute and display leaderboard rankings (squad, area, city, state, national, world). Squad codes let you compare your screen time with friends who join the same squad.

Data retention & deletion

Uninstalling the app stops all further reporting. To request deletion of your leaderboard record, contact us with your device ID (visible in the app's You tab is not shown directly, but we can locate your record via your squad code and player name) — see contact details on our website.

Permissions used

• PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access) — daily screen-time total only.
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — optional, user-initiated, one-time lookup during setup only.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — optional daily standing reminder.
• INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to reach the leaderboard backend.
