REGULATORY REFERENCE
IGC Code §16 Emergency Shutdown requirements for gas carriers. ESD must close all liquid and vapour valves on cargo system within defined time.
IEC 61508 SIL 2 Safety Integrity Level 2 — probability of failure on demand 10⁻³ to 10⁻². Requires redundant logic solver and periodic proof testing.
SOLAS II-2 Reg. 4 Fire protection and detection. ESD must interface with fixed fire-fighting system to ensure concurrent suppression.
