How to use PaisaCalc

PaisaCalc is a set of free money calculators — loans, savings, investments, tax and more — that work in your own currency, plus tools for Indian tax and savings schemes.

1Start here

  1. Pick a calculator from the strip of tabs, such as Loan EMI, SIP or FD. On a phone you can also tap the ☰ button at the bottom to see the full list.
  2. Type a number in a box or drag its slider. The result updates as you go.
  3. Choose your money format in the Currency menu at the top. It changes the symbol and number style only; it does not convert amounts.
  4. Tap Share this result, WhatsApp or Copy link to send your numbers. The link opens the same calculator with them filled in.

2The main features

Loans

Loan EMI works out your monthly instalment (EMI = equated monthly instalment) and how much an extra monthly prepayment saves; it also shows a year-wise schedule. Loan Eligibility estimates how much you could borrow.

Tabs: Loan EMI, Loan Eligibility

Saving and investing

SIP (systematic investment plan — a fixed amount invested every month, with an optional yearly step-up), Lumpsum, Goal / Retire, SWP (systematic withdrawal plan — regular withdrawals from a fund), FD (fixed deposit) and RD (recurring deposit).

Tabs: SIP, Lumpsum, Goal / Retire, SWP, FD, RD

Everyday maths

Discount & Tip has three modes: Discount %, Tip / split, and Sales tax / VAT — add tax to a price or find the tax inside a price. Interest / CAGR (compound annual growth rate) and Inflation show how money grows or loses value.

India tools

Tools that follow Indian rules: PPF (Public Provident Fund), GST (goods and services tax), Income Tax (old vs new regime), Sukanya (Sukanya Samriddhi scheme), NPS (National Pension System), Gratuity and In-hand Salary. These use rupees.

4Common questions

What is an EMI?

EMI means equated monthly instalment: the fixed amount you pay every month on a loan. It covers both interest and part of the loan.

Does changing the currency convert my amounts?

No. It only changes the symbol and how numbers are written. Type amounts in the currency you chose.

I am not in India. Which calculators are for me?

All tabs before the “India” label work for any country. For sales tax or VAT, use Discount & Tip › Sales tax / VAT.

How do I find the tax already included in a price?

Open Discount & Tip, choose Sales tax / VAT, enter the price and the tax rate. It shows the tax added on top and the tax inside a tax-inclusive price.

Are the results exact?

They use standard formulas; each calculator’s own page shows its formula. Banks and tax offices may round differently, so treat results as estimates.
