How to use HueWalls
Free gradient, mesh and AMOLED phone wallpapers, plus a maker for your own.
1Start here
- Use the chips at the top — All, Gradients, Mesh, Solid / AMOLED — to find a design you like.
- Tap a design to preview it on a phone frame. Use ‹ and › (or swipe) to see the next one.
- On the website, tap Download ⬇. Then open the picture in your gallery or Photos app and choose “Set as wallpaper”.
- In the Android app, tap Set as wallpaper and choose 🏠 Home, 🔒 Lock or ✨ Both. It is applied straight away.
- Tap ♡ to keep a design in ★ Favourites.

3Sign-in, data & privacy
- Website: browsing and previews need no account. You can download 3 wallpapers a day without one; sign in free with Google for unlimited downloads. The Android app needs no account.
- Every wallpaper is drawn on your own device. Nothing you create is uploaded.
- Website: your favourites and streak are saved in this browser only. Downloads go to your normal Downloads folder.
- Android app: wallpapers you save go to Pictures/HueWalls in your gallery; your designs and favourites stay on your phone. To keep your points safe, the app sends a scrambled device ID and your points to CryoSim.
4Common questions
Why can’t the website set the wallpaper for me?
Browsers are not allowed to change your wallpaper. Download the picture, then set it from your gallery. The Android app can set it directly.
What resolution are the wallpapers?
Each picture is drawn at your screen’s own pixel size (up to 1440 × 3120), so it is sharp, not stretched.
What is an AMOLED wallpaper?
A pure-black or very dark background. On phones with an OLED screen, black pixels are switched off, so a dark wallpaper can use a little less battery.
Can I use one wallpaper for the home screen and another for the lock screen?
Yes, in the Android app: set the first with 🏠 Home, then the second with 🔒 Lock.
Is HueWalls free?
Yes. All designs and the maker are free. On the website you can download 3 wallpapers a day without an account; sign in free with Google for unlimited downloads.
