SIRE Pro ("the app") is a whole-ship inspection simulator that helps tanker crews and shore staff prepare for SIRE 2.0 (Ship Inspection Report Programme) inspections. It is published by CryoSim. This policy explains what information the app handles.
Signing in is optional — you can use SIRE Pro and keep your work on this device without an account. To back up and sync your inspection projects across devices, sign in. If you choose to sign in, SIRE Pro opens your phone's web browser at cryosim.com, where you sign in with your Google account (Google Sign-In is the only sign-in method), and then brings you back to the app signed in. From Google we receive your name, email address, Google account ID and the link to your Google profile picture. We store these in your CryoSim account and use them only to sign you in and manage your account. We never see your Google password.
If you choose to, you can also add your rank and vessel name to your CryoSim account profile.
When you are signed in and turn on sync, your inspection projects — such as the vessel name, prepared-by name and rank, locations reviewed, risks recorded, question responses and actions — are stored on CryoSim servers and linked to your account, so it is available on any device where you sign in. Photos you attach stay on your device and are not uploaded. A project is visible to colleagues on your organisation's licence only if you choose to share it with your fleet. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
The app keeps your sign-in session on your device so you stay logged in between uses. This local data is removed when you sign out, uninstall the app, or clear its data.
SIRE Pro asks to show notifications so it can send you reminders. It may open your device's file picker only when you choose to attach a file within the app. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location. Internet access is used only to send the daily ‘app opened’ signal described below and to sign in and sync your data over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not use an advertising ID. Once a day, the first time you open the app, it sends CryoSim a once-a-day ‘app opened’ signal with a random install ID (no personal data): the app name and version, the date and your time zone. The install ID is created by the app itself, is not your device ID or linked to your account, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. We use these signals only to count active installs, and our server does not store your IP address.
You can delete your inspection data inside the app. You can delete your CryoSim account at any time at cryosim.com/account (sign in, then use Delete Account); this permanently removes your account profile (name, email address and Google account ID) and the data linked to it on our servers, including your synced inspection projects and your company-licence membership. Records of payments, if any, are kept only as tax and accounting law requires, without your name or email address. Details: cryosim.com privacy policy. The app is a professional tool intended for a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect data from children.
