How to use Stox

Stox is a free research tool for Indian stocks on the NSE (National Stock Exchange of India): read company results, screen stocks and track your own holdings. It also shows each company’s price chart and shareholding. It is for learning and research only — not investment advice.

1Start here

  1. Open Stox. The first page is a company research page: at the top you see the company, its Market Cap (total value of its shares), P/E (share price ÷ yearly earnings per share) and LTP (last traded price).
  2. To look at another company, type its name or NSE symbol in Search symbol... at the top and tap it in the list.
  3. Use the links under the company name — 📊 Quarterly Results, 📘 Annual Results, 👥 Shareholding Pattern and 📈 Technical Analysis — to jump to each part of the page.
  4. Tap Results to see companies that reported recently, or Screener to filter every covered stock by its numbers. On a phone these are the buttons under the search box; on a PC they are in the top menu.
  5. To track your own shares, tap Sign In (Google), open My Portfolio, then ✏️ Edit / Import Portfolio.

2The main features

Company research page

Quarterly and annual results, the shareholding pattern (how much promoters, institutions and the public own), a price-and-volume chart, how the share price actually moved in the 90 days after the latest results, and an automatically produced 90-day model estimate with a low–high range and the model’s past accuracy. The estimate is for information only, often wrong, and not a recommendation.

4Common questions

Is Stox free?

Yes. The Pricing page shows a single free tier that includes everything.

Will Stox tell me which stock to buy?

No. It shows published numbers, past price moves and an automatically produced 90-day model estimate — no tips or buy/sell/hold calls. The estimate is a statistical figure for information and education only, not a price target or a recommendation, and it is often wrong: each card shows how often past estimates were right. It is not investment advice; do your own research and speak to a SEBI-registered adviser before you invest. Past performance does not indicate future results.

Which stocks are covered?

Indian stocks listed on the NSE, with prices in Indian rupees (₹) and market cap in ₹ crore (1 crore = 10 million). If a company does not appear in Search symbol..., it is not covered.

What do the 90-day figures mean?

How much the share price actually changed in the 90 days after the company’s latest results. While those 90 days are still running it shows the change so far. That figure is history. The separate 90-day model estimate is the model’s statistical guess for the next 90 days, shown with a low–high range, the implied price and its as-of date. Past estimates landed inside their range only about half the time and called the direction right well under half the time (the exact figures are on each card), so treat it as information, not a target.

Can I import my holdings from my broker?

Yes. In ✏️ Edit / Import Portfolio, import a CSV file with the columns SYMBOL, QTY and PRICE — a Kite (Zerodha) holdings export works. It replaces your current portfolio after you confirm, then tap 💾 Save Portfolio.

How fresh is the data?

Results and prices are updated regularly. NSE trades Monday to Friday, 09:15–15:30 India time, so prices do not move outside those hours.
