Aegix PC Security Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download, install or use Aegix PC Security for Windows. They are written to be read: you may use the app for free, you decide every change it makes to your PC, and you can undo those changes.

  • Free to use
  • Nothing changes without your OK
  • Changes can be undone in Settings
  • No account, no ads

Last updated: · applies to Aegix PC Security for Windows (direct download and Microsoft Store version). See also the privacy policy and the support page.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Aegix PC Security (“Aegix”, “the app”) is made by CryoSim (cryosim.com). “We” and “us” mean CryoSim; “you” means the person using the app. By installing or using Aegix you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.

If you get Aegix from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft’s own Store terms also apply to how you obtain and update it. CryoSim, not Microsoft, is responsible for the app and its support.

2. Your licence

We give you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Aegix on Windows PCs that you own or are allowed to manage, for private or work use. You may not:

  • sell, rent or re-distribute the app, or publish modified copies of it;
  • remove or change our name, notices or the app’s signature checks;
  • reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.

The app, its name, logo and content remain the property of CryoSim. Third-party components inside it are used under their own licences.

3. Price

Aegix PC Security is free. There is no account, no subscription, no in-app payment and no advertising.

4. Changes to your PC are your choice

Aegix checks your PC and suggests fixes. It changes a Windows setting, file or registry value only when you click the action and confirm it in the app. Actions that need administrator rights also show the Windows permission prompt (UAC), and nothing happens if you say no there.

  • You are responsible for the actions you confirm, and for having the right to make them on that PC. If your employer or school manages the PC, ask its IT team before changing system settings.
  • Changes Aegix makes are listed in Settings › System changes, where each one that can be reversed has an Undo button, and Undo all Aegix system changes reverses all of them at once.
  • Some actions cannot be undone by their nature — for example deleting temporary and cache files, installing Windows updates, cleaning up old Windows components or resetting the network. The app tells you this before you confirm, and the support page lists every action, where it acts and how to undo it.
  • Before you uninstall Aegix, open Settings › System changes and choose Undo all Aegix system changes. Uninstalling the app does not by itself reverse settings you asked it to change.

5. Acceptable use

Use Aegix only to look after computers you own or are authorised to administer. You must not:

  • use it to change, monitor or disrupt a computer or network without permission;
  • run the e-mail breach check on addresses that are not yours unless you have the owner’s permission;
  • misuse the cryosim.com services the app talks to (threat lists, password sync and phone link relays, points) — for example by overloading them, sending automated or forged requests, or trying to reach data that is not yours;
  • use the app in breach of any law.

We may block access to our online services for anyone who misuses them.

6. Other services

Some features rely on services we do not control: Microsoft Defender and Windows Update (part of Windows), Cloudflare (Safe DNS), Have I Been Pwned and XposedOrNot (breach checks). They are used only when you use the feature, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their availability or results.

7. Your data and passwords

How the app handles data is explained in the privacy policy. Everything in the Vault (passwords, photos, videos, files and notes) is encrypted on your devices with keys we never receive, so we cannot read or recover it. Keep your own backup (Vault › Export encrypted backup) if you would be harmed by losing it.

8. No warranty

We work hard to make Aegix accurate and safe, but it is provided free and “as is”. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. No security tool finds every threat or scam: Aegix does not replace your own care, Microsoft Defender or regular backups of your files.

9. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, CryoSim is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use Aegix, including the results of actions you confirmed in the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, if any.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

10. Updates, changes and ending

  • We may update the app to fix problems, keep it secure or change features. The Microsoft Store version is updated through the Microsoft Store; the direct-download version updates itself from cryosim.com.
  • We may change these terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date; if a change is important we will also say so in the app or on the download page. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
  • You may stop using Aegix at any time by uninstalling it (see section 4 first). We may stop offering the app or one of its online services; where we can, we will give notice on this page.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking to us first, the courts of India have jurisdiction. This does not take away mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
