Everframe Privacy Policy
Everframe is a photo organiser that runs entirely on your Windows PC. Your photos, the faces, keywords and places worked out from them, and your albums and ratings stay on your computer. CryoSim never receives them.
- No account or sign-in
- No photo is uploaded
- AI runs on your PC
- No ads
- No analytics or tracking in the app
Last updated: · applies to Everframe for Windows (Microsoft Store version, and earlier copies installed from cryosim.com)
1. Who we are
Everframe is made by CryoSim (cryosim.com). In this policy “we” means CryoSim. Questions about this policy or your data: admin@cryosim.com.
2. What stays on your PC
Everything Everframe works out about your photos is created and kept on your own computer, in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Everframe:
- the library catalogue: file names, folders, dates, camera details and GPS locations read from your photos, your stars, ratings and albums;
- thumbnails, auto keywords, face data and the names you give to people;
- the AI models, once downloaded, and a plain-text log file (
everframe.log) used only to diagnose problems on your PC.
None of this is sent to CryoSim or anyone else. Face grouping, keywords and search run on your PC’s processor or graphics card.
3. Your photo files
- Everframe reads the folders you add. It does not move, rename or copy them.
- Edits are never written over the original: “Save a copy” writes a new file named
name (edited).jpgnext to it. - A photo is only removed when you choose to remove it, and it goes to the Windows Recycle Bin, where you can restore it.
4. When Everframe uses the internet
Everframe has no account, no ads and no analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking. It connects to the internet only for these things:
- Update check (earlier copies installed from cryosim.com). About two minutes after it starts, then every 12 hours, and when you click “Check now” in Settings, the app reads a small update file from cryosim.com and, if there is a newer version, downloads it from cryosim.com. Like any web request, this shows our server your IP address and the app name and version (for example “EverframeWindows/0.1.0”). Our web server keeps standard access logs for security and to run the site. Nothing about your photos or library is sent.
- Update check (Microsoft Store version). The Store version is updated through the Microsoft Store, under Microsoft’s privacy statement.
- AI models (one time). When you turn AI on in a copy installed from cryosim.com (or click Repair), the app downloads the AI model files from their public publishers: huggingface.co (the CLIP search model) and GitHub (media.githubusercontent.com, the OpenCV face models). Those services see your IP address and the app name, as with any download. The Store version ships the models inside the package.
- Links you click. “Open in maps” on the Places page opens OpenStreetMap in your web browser with that place’s coordinates, and the website link in Settings opens cryosim.com. Nothing is opened unless you click it.
Everything else, including search, People, Places, duplicates and editing, works without an internet connection.
5. This website
The Everframe pages on cryosim.com are part of the CryoSim website. Everframe itself is installed from the Microsoft Store and needs no CryoSim account. Like most websites, our server logs requests (IP address, browser, page and time), and the site counts page visits and button clicks to see which pages are useful. It shows no ads.
6. Sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or share data about you or your photos. Because your library never leaves your PC, we have no copy of it to share.
7. Removing your data
- Remove a folder from the library (the Remove button next to it in Everframe’s Settings) and its photos leave the catalogue; the files on disk stay where they are.
- To remove Everframe: Settings › Apps › Installed apps › Everframe › Uninstall. Tick the box in the uninstaller to also delete the library data folder (catalogue, thumbnails, AI models). Your photos are never deleted.
- You can also delete
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Everframeyourself at any time while the app is closed. - For web server logs about you, write to admin@cryosim.com.
8. Children
Everframe does not ask for or collect personal information from anyone, including children. Photos of family members stay on the PC where they are stored.
9. Changes to this policy
If what Everframe sends over the internet changes, we will update this page and its date before that version is released.
