Each Rule is narrated in a natural voice, and the paragraph being spoken lights up as you hear it — so you can follow the words or just listen.
The clause is the unit
Back and Next step one part — Rule 8(a), then 8(b) — and start reading it at once. Nothing runs on unless you switch Read on, so a clause is a place you can stop and think.

At the pause after a clause the microphone opens and waits: say Next, Back or Repeat and it reads on. Walk the whole of the COLREGS without touching the screen.

Is the COLREGS Reader free?

Is my progress saved, and does it move to my other devices?
Your reading log, study streak, drill marks and settings are saved in the browser you use, so Resume picks up where you stopped. They are kept on that device only and do not sync to another phone or PC.
Does it have the full text of the COLREGS?
Yes — all 41 Rules (Parts A to F) and the four Annexes of the 1972 Collision Regulations as amended, one per screen. Every Rule has its own page and link, so a link to Rule 19 opens on Rule 19.
Can I listen to the Rules instead of reading them?
Yes. Each Rule is narrated in a natural voice and the paragraph being spoken is highlighted. Back and Next step one clause at a time; switch on Read on to carry straight through. In browsers with speech recognition you can also say Next, Back or Repeat at the pause between clauses.
