MCQ practice for the DG Shipping STCW modular-course exit exams — 5,349 questions across 27 courses, in sets of 30. Ask for a reshuffle and the whole bank is re-dealt: every set holds different questions, and the four options move too.
The unit that gets shuffled is the whole course bank, and the sets are then dealt off the top of it — so “Set 3” is a different 30 questions after every reshuffle, and the four options are shuffled with it. Nobody passes by remembering that the answer was third from the top.
“All of the above” is only true while it is last, and “both (a) and (b)” names slots rather than answers. Those options are always sorted to the bottom, in exam order — the statements, then “both (a) and (b)”, then “None of the above” — so the shuffle can never make the marked answer false. It also fixes papers that arrived with “both (a) and (b)” sitting at option A, where it referred to itself.
Tap an option and it is marked at once: the right answer shown, yours flagged if it was not it, and the question locked — so the mark you got is the mark you keep. 4,533 of the 5,349 questions (85%) then explain themselves in writing.
The mock sits outside the deal: 30 questions drawn at random from the whole bank every single time you open it, judged against the real 30-mark, 15-to-pass paper. Sit it twice and you have sat two different papers.
From AFF, PST and PSSR through the tanker, IGF and High Voltage papers — one built bank per course, cut into 191 practice sets of 30. Set sizes are real and never padded — 26 of those sets are the short tail of a bank that does not divide evenly, and they say so rather than being filled out.
Every course has a full key you can just read — grouped by set, rendered on the server, and legible with JavaScript switched off. Your progress is kept per set, and none of it is gated: signing in only moves the scores from this browser to your account.
4,533 of the 5,349 questions (85%) carry a written explanation. The 5 refresher banks — RAFF, REFA, REPFF, RPSSR, RPST — carry none: their source only ever restated the answer letter, which stops meaning anything the moment the options move, so it was stripped rather than shown. Those questions are still marked correctly, they just do not explain themselves.
