What is SIRE Pro?
A whole-ship SIRE 2.0 inspection-prep app for tankers. For all 379 SIRE 2.0 questions it gives our own practical guidance, referenced by question number: the evidence to have ready and the common ways each is failed, and every rank gets its own preparation checklist.
Is SIRE Pro an official OCIMF product?
No. SIRE and SIRE 2.0 are programmes of OCIMF. SIRE Pro is an independent preparation tool made by CryoSim and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OCIMF. It does not reproduce OCIMF's question text: the guidance is our own, referenced to SIRE 2.0 question numbers. Use it alongside your company SMS and the current OCIMF publications.
Does it work without internet on board?
Yes. Open it once and install it to a phone, tablet or laptop; after that it runs fully offline, so it is there mid-inspection with no signal.
Is SIRE Pro free?
Yes, for crews. Today every part of the app is open to everyone, with no ads and no account needed. Signing in is optional and only adds sync of a vessel between your own devices. Vessel and fleet licences for companies are planned and are not on sale yet. A company can already ask for a paid pilot (see below); nothing is charged unless the company accepts our written proposal.
How does a paid fleet pilot work?
Choose "Request a paid pilot" on this page and tell us your company, contact e-mail and how many vessels (a pilot covers up to two). The request reaches us directly. We reply by e-mail with a written proposal: one flat monthly fee for up to two vessels, for up to the first three months. Nothing is charged unless you accept that proposal, and your crews can keep using the free app meanwhile.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
SIRE Pro is a web app, so it opens in Safari on iPhone and iPad as well as in Chrome or Edge on Android, Windows and Mac. On iPhone or iPad, use Safari's Share menu and "Add to Home Screen" to keep it like an app. There is no App Store app; on Android an app is in testing on Google Play.
Does it cover the current maritime security focused inspection campaign?
Yes. OCIMF's focused inspection campaign on maritime security looks at Chapter 7 (Maritime Security) of SIRE 2.0, and SIRE Pro carries its guidance for every Chapter 7 question, including 7.2.1 on the ship-specific Vessel Hardening Plan: the evidence to have ready and the common ways each is failed. Those questions also appear in the rank checklists of the officers the inspector will ask.
What does SIRE Pro not do?
It does not conduct or submit the SIRE 2.0 inspection, it does not import OCIMF inspection reports, and it is not a shore-side fleet inspection-management system with history across vessels. It has no example photo or video per question yet. It is a preparation tool for the crew, with a PDF readiness report for the office.
Where is my inspection data kept?
On your own device. Ticks, notes and photos are stored in the browser on that device. You can save the whole project as a file, export an action list to hand to the next officer, and create a PDF readiness report with a sign-off page for the office. If you sign in, you can also sync a vessel between your own devices (photos stay on the device); sharing a vessel with your company office is a separate switch that stays off until you turn it on.
Can it use our own company procedures (SMS)?
Yes. Load your company SMS once, as a ZIP package or as PDF, Word or Excel files. SIRE Pro reads and indexes it on the device, and nothing is uploaded. For each SIRE 2.0 question it then shows the pages of your own procedures that apply, with page numbers. Where the SMS says nothing, it flags the gap to raise with the office and suggests an interim measure for the ship.
Who on board is it for?
Everyone the inspector talks to: Master, Chief Officer, 2nd and 3rd Officer, engineers, ETO, bosun and ratings, and the galley each get their own checklist — or walk the ship by location instead.
Does it cover dry-cargo ships?
No — SIRE 2.0 is the tanker inspection regime. For bulkers, general cargo and container ships, RightShip Pro covers RightShip's RISQ 3.2 questionnaire.
