How the Discount & Tip Calculator works

Discount: Pay = Price × (1 − d ÷ 100)  ·  Tip: Each = Bill × (1 + t ÷ 100) ÷ people

  • d — discount percentage
  • t — tip percentage

Worked example

On a ₹1,200 price or bill:

20% offpay ₹960, save ₹240
10% tip, split 4 ways₹1,320 total, ₹330 each

Two discounts do not add up: 20% then another 10% off is 28% off in total, not 30%.
