Grid Memory — a free visual pattern memory game
In Grid Memory some cells on a grid light up for a moment, then the grid goes blank. Tap every cell that was lit. Each round lights one more cell, and the grid itself grows as the pattern gets bigger.
It trains the visual-spatial memory you use to remember where things are — a parking spot, a layout, a diagram.
How to play
- Round one lights 3 cells on a 3×3 grid.
- The pattern shows for about one second at first (0.65 seconds plus 0.13 seconds per lit cell), then the grid goes blank.
- Tap the cells that were lit, in any order.
- Every lit cell found: the next round lights one more cell. The grid grows to 4×4 at 5 cells and 5×5 at 8 cells.
- Tap a cell that was not lit and the run ends.
How the score works
Your score is the largest pattern you reproduced completely. Missing the first 3-cell pattern scores 0.
What it trains
Visual-spatial memory — remembering positions and patterns.
Tips to score higher
- Read the lit cells as one shape — a letter, an arrow, a corner — instead of separate squares.
- Split a big pattern into two small groups, for example "top row pair + the middle one".
- Keep your eyes on the whole grid, not on the first cell that lights up.
