Word Recall — a free word list memory game
Word Recall shows you a short list of everyday words to study. Then the list is mixed in with look-alike distractors and you tap only the words you saw.
It is the kind of memory you lean on for a shopping list, a set of study terms, or the names of the people you just met.
How to play
- The first list has 4 words, shown for about 5 seconds (about 0.9 seconds more for each extra word).
- The list disappears and a larger set appears: the same words plus two more distractors than there are targets.
- Tap exactly the words you studied, then press Check. Tap a word again to un-select it.
- All correct: the next list is one word longer. Any miss: the run ends and the right answers are shown.
How the score works
Your score is the longest list you recalled perfectly. Missing the first 4-word list scores 0.
What it trains
List memory — holding several separate items at once and recognising them later.
Tips to score higher
- Link the words into one silly moving scene — a tiger playing a piano on a cloud is easier to keep than three loose words.
- For longer lists, place each word along a route through your home (the memory palace).
- Take the first letters and make a word out of them.
